There is something truly unique about Indonesia short film. In general, short film is perceived as a miniscule form of filmmaking. A small stepping stone into the industry or a rather unusual hobby. But the truth remains that whatever motivations and means that Indonesian filmmaker have, Indonesian short films projects a body of collective subconciousness that represent fragments of Indonesian culture.

Boemboe.org percevies any film that is not at feature length (approx. 60 minutes up) which are made by Indonesian filmmaker, whether in Indonesia or abroad, as Indonesian short film. Genres and forms are not of boemboe.org’s concern because at boemboe.org we believe that short film is the most honest form of filmmaking.
